So far, we have 35 volunteers, which is excellent, serving a village population of 1,500
This does not take into account all the other good neighbourly activity going on in the village.
We are currently supporting about 40 households in various ways, such as assisting with shopping , collecting prescriptions and the like.
A number of volunteers also make daily phone calls to folk who are isolated by virtue of living alone or in remote locations to check all is well and a bit of a blether.

If you would like to nominate someone as a “Star of Chirnside” because of some special act of neighborliness, kindness or just being a good person please pm our Facebook page

If you would like to join our band of volunteers please get in touch using the Common Good web contact us page.
Not able to volunteer for any reason but still want to help them we have a Total Giving page please give generously to support the village in this time. Can we also say a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who has given so far. Your generosity has has raised over £2,200 (cash & on-line) for the benefit of our community at this time.
