Volunteering in the Borders

The three Lord-Lieutenants in the Scottish Borders invite you to a special Open Day on 25 September to celebrate and develop further the tremendous work you do throughout our communities.

WEDNESDAY 25 SEPTEMBER

SPRINGWOOD PARK, KELSO

The day is the initiative of the three Borders Lord-Lieutenants and Scottish Borders Council in partnership with the Borders Third Sector and will run from 10.30am – 4pm. The morning will be for Charities and Volunteer Groups, providing an opportunity to learn about who is doing what, share experiences and best practice, discuss the opportunities for partnership working and identify gaps in provision within the region. Short key note presentations will each be followed by a breakdown into small facilitated discussion groups. The morning will close with an open forum discussion and an opportunity for networking during lunch.
From 2pm the doors will open to the public for a Volunteering Fair, an opportunity to encourage people new to volunteering to explore the many opportunities that there are to play a part in helping individuals and local communities. Tea/coffee and biscuits will be provided along with a table, chairs and a power supply (if required) to enable your organisation to ‘set up shop’.
