The book tells the story of Chirnside from its origins in Saxon times through to the present day. It was produced by Linda Gray for the Chirnside History Group with assistance from group members.

The book tells of the important agricultural and industrial developments which have taken place in and around Chirnside. Full of detail about the people, schools, church and significant house in the village, not forgetting Whitehall Estates very own daffodil the “whiteadder”
